Shinefest showcases Spartans

GRUNDY CENTER – Grundy Center High School held its 2022 edition of Shinefest, a fine arts variety show, at the school auditorium last Thursday.

As it has for many years now, Shinefest highlighted the comedic, dramatic and musical talents of Spartans.

Directors for this year’s Shinefest were Mark Fakler, Vocal Director; Andrew VanHoorweghe, Band Director; and Renee Gingery and Jess Larison, Speech Coaches.

Performances at this year’s Shinefest included:

Grundy Center Jazz Band - “Iko Iko,” “Mind Your P’s and Q’s,” and “In One Ear” with soloist Aiden Del Castillo.

Saban Boquet and Blake Stahl - “Who’s on First?” comedy group
