GRUNDY CENTER – Perennial power Grundy Center captured yet another North Iowa Cedar League West Conference crown with a sweep of the South Hardin volleyball team on Tuesday.

The third-ranked in Class 2A Spartans spanked the Tigers with set scores of 25-5, 25-9, 25-14.

Grundy Center’s ninth consecutive conference crown came with perfect marks of 6-0 in matches and 18-0 in games. The win also extended the Spartans’ league winning streak to 59 straight bouts.

“Winning conference is a big deal for the girls and the program,” stated Grundy Center coach Lori Willis. “You don’t want to be the ones that had the streak broken, so we take it very serious. It is one of our goals every season. We have a lot of alumni counting on us.”

South Hardin ended on the other end of the conference standings, going winless with marks of 0-6 and 0-18 in the league.
