The BCLUW/East Marshall Straight Shooters trap-shooting team wrapped up its third season with a successful outing at the state championship in Cedar Falls from June 9-12.

Many personal best scores were achieved, including 25 straights and one 75 straight shot by Ross Wolken. Conditions were hot and humid with no wind to cool temperatures with wind, but even amidst those distractions, the scores showed “our ability to focus,” according to Straight Shooters coach Troy Emley.

In the intermediate division, Sage Lewis was the State Champion Intermediate/Advanced Female (187 birds) in singles and second place in handicap for Intermediate/Advanced Female (85 birds).

In CISS Green 2 (singles), Holden Lane, Keaton Woosley, Blaedyn Benscoter, Dawson Kitzman and Blain Augspuger came in third place for Intermediate/Entry Level with 788 birds.
