Supervisors approve bond issuance, donation to Dike sports complex

DIKE — The Grundy County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved money for a pair of local projects.
Supervisors approved both the issuance of General Obligation Urban Renewal Refunding Bonds for the Grundy County Memorial Hospital and a donation to the Kruger-Hemmen Sports Complex in Dike.
The $15 million in bonds for the hospital will pay off the remaining balance on bonds that were used to fund a 2009 building project that included new Emergency and Inpatient departments.  The refunding will save the hospital an estimated $800,000 in interest payments over the life of the bonds.
There was no public comment on the project during a public hearing, and Supervisors unanimously approved the project without discussion.
