Supervisors approve budget amendment, easement payments

GRUNDY CENTER- The Grundy County Board of Supervisors approved a budget amendment pertaining to the Secondary Roads department and easement payments for a bridge replacement project during Monday morning’s regular meeting.

           

Later in the meeting, the board approved two easement payments for a bridge replacement on 300th Street a mile and a half west of Highway 14 for the following amounts: $1,360 to Lymar Inc. and $3,920 to the McLean family.

           

The board approved a previously discussed grant of $4,000 to Maroon and White Inc. for the Upper Elementary renovation project.

           

Supervisor Barb Smith provided an update on the COVID-19 situation with regard to Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH), which has treated patients who tested positive but is not currently housing any COVID patients. Smith noted that GCMH has not yet received any overflow patients from Black Hawk County.

           

Chief Deputy Kirk Dolleslager also reported that there are currently two inmates in the jail, and they are being kept distanced from each other to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.

           

IN OTHER BUSINESS, the board:

·      Approved two Windstream Utility permits.

·      Approved contract documents with Boulder Contracting LLC for a bridge repair project on Westbrook Avenue east of Highway 14.

·      Approved the recorder’s quarterly report.
