Top-ranked D-NH volleyball undefeated last week

PARKERSBURG, DIKE – The Dike-New Hartford volleyball team swept NICL East competition at an Aplington-Parkersburg triangular on Thursday and then went undefeated at their home invitational in Dike on Saturday.
 
The six victories last week boosted the overall record for the Class 2A No. 1 Wolverines to 22-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
 
On Thursday, D-NH swept Aplington-Parkersburg 25-8, 25-2, 25-10 and defeated Hudson 25-6, 25-11, 25-7.
 
Saturday's tournament brought high-ranking competition to Dike, and the Wolverines answered the challenge with straight-set wins over 1A defending champion and current top-ranked 1A team Janesville, 3A No. 8 Osage and 2A No. 14 Sumner-Fredericksburg. D-NH added a three-set victory over 5A No. 1 Cedar Falls, the second win over the Tigers in the last two weekends.
 
Dike-New Hartford hosts Jesup on Tuesday and will host another NICL East match against Sumner-Fredericksburg on Thursday.
