GRUNDY CENTER – The newest addition to Grundy Center’s ever-growing downtown district – Trends Center – celebrated their grand opening last Tuesday.

Located at 609 G Avenue, Trends Center is a boutique that sells clothing, accessories, jewelry and more for ladies of all sizes.

Owner Heidi Cordes, who lives in Marion and manages her other Trends Center location there, says the reception she’s received in Grundy Center has been great.

“The grand opening was awesome, and we had tons of community support,” she said. “Everyone has been really welcoming, including the other business owners; it’s nice to have that kind of small town support.”

She also gave a thanks to building owner Dave Loftus, who worked to get the space ready for her so she was able to move in and open up shop within just a couple of months.

There to help her run the new shop in Grundy Center are a team of locals: Heidi’s mother-in-law Nancy Cordes of Wellsburg, along with Jess Ackerson, Sandra Hahn, Carmen Starr and Kristin McCartney, who are all from either Wellsburg or Grundy Center, Heidi says.
