Tuesday's boys basketball: Grundy Center controls 2nd half

STATE CENTER – Grundy Center got away from West Marshall in the second half of a 74-55 victory at West Marshall High School on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Dayne Zinkula scored 17 points and distributed five assists to lead the Spartans, Brayden Sawyer added 16 points and eight rebounds. Wes Willis and Dexter Whitehill scored 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Grundy Center led 39-34 at halftime and stretched out to a 59-46 lead after three quarters.

Joey Tollefson scored 19 points to lead the Trojans.

WAPSIE VALLEY 73, D-NH 68: Mason Harter scored 20 points with 16 rebounds to lead the Warriors to victory.

Harter grabbed eight of his rebounds on the offensive glass as the Warriors outrebounded D-NH, 41-18.

AJ Wegener led the Wolverines' scoring attack with 17 points and added five assists. Dane Fuller scored 14 points with three steals and Nathan Moore chipped in 13 points. Brewer Eiklenborg scored 12 points and led the team with four rebounds.

Blayde Bellis added 18 points for the Warriors, who trailed D-NH, 31-27, at halftime. The teams combined for 18 3-pointers, hitting nine each. Wapsie Valley hit 14-of-20 free-throw attempts in Tuesday's game.
