ACKLEY – When Turkey Valley recovered a standard kickoff at the end of the third quarter at AGWSR High School last Friday night, it summed up a rough night for the Cougars.

AGWSR head coach James Koop opted for the word “befuddling” to describe Turkey Valley’s 56-6 romp on Friday night.

“There were some things out there tonight where it feels like we’ve never talked about football to the kids,” Koop said. “It’s not that there weren’t kids that made good plays or good things that we can find on film, … but there’s a lot of plays tonight where, based on what I know they’ve been taught, it’s befuddling.”

Ethan Leibold and Eli Reicks ran in two touchdowns each for the Trojans and connected on a touchdown pass for a fifth. The Trojans were slow to start but gained brutal effectiveness near the end of the first half.

Turkey Valley drove 49 yards in 21 seconds in the second quarter to tack on a touchdown before halftime and enter the half with a 20-0 lead.
