DIKE – Positive energy fueled the Dike-New Hartford volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Aplington-Parkersburg in a regional quarterfinal on Monday, Oct. 22.

The Wolverines (33-12) won 25-11, 25-5, 25-18. D-NH will travel to Charles City on Thursday to play Lake Mills, a straight-set winner over Saint Ansgar on Monday.

Morgan Weber had team-high marks with 19 kills and 21 digs in addition to 15-of-15 serving and three ace serves. Amber Rickert added 11 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and three ace serves on 13-of-13 serving. Carlee Dove had 10 kills and two blocks while Angelina Westberg and Lexie Fager dug up 16 and 13 attacks, respectively, to bolster D-NH's defense.

"We know we can make it to state game-by game, we've just gotta keep that positive energy going every game," Weber said. "A-P's one of our rivals and that's always a good feeling, but we had to keep self-contained and stay positive throughout the whole game."

The Wolverines jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first set with Weber hammering the ball and D-NH's serving immediately putting A-P on its heels.

D-NH had all the momentum in the second set, too, going on a 12-2 run to start and ending rallies quickly.
