DIKE – Sydney Lage and the Dike-New Hartford volleyball team settled in at the net for a conference win last Tuesday night.

The Wolverines had 11 team blocks to suppress Union's attack in a straight-set victory in Dike to keep D-NH undefeated in North Iowa Cedar League East play this season.

D-NH (31-3, 7-0 NICL East) won 25-21, 25-10, 25-14. Morgan Weber had 13 kills and 10 digs, with Baylee Petersen adding eight kills and 10 digs of her own.

The Wolverines' block was the big difference maker in the second set, combined with an overall cleaner game helping D-NH pull away after an error-filled first set.

Lage had seven block assists, with her fellow junior teammate Carlee Dove contributing five assisted blocks.

"We just keep working hard on it," Lage said of the success on the block. "We practice it a lot, just try to get a lot of touches going and watching the hitters' eyes."
