The Woman’s Club thanked local frontline healthcare workers by presenting a thank you note to each staff member of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, the UnityPoint Family Medicine Clinic, and the Grundy Center Ambulance Department.  Over two hundred KIND snack bars made with wholesome ingredients including real fruit and nuts were distributed by the hospital’s Joy committee on behalf of the Woman’s Club. A thank you note to the workers was attached to every snack bar that read “Working as a team, you have met the ever-changing challenges of the past two years.  We’re proud of the care and commitment you show every day.  Thank you for your KIND-ness!”

The KIND Company, a maker of delicious and nutritious foods, created a new healthy snacking category with the introduction of its first fruit & nut bars in 2004. The New York City based company was founded by Daniel Lubetzky.  The son of a Holocaust survivor, his life’s work has been focused on building bridges between people and increasing appreciation for our shared humanity. Lubetzky is on a mission to make the world a little kinder one snack and act at a time. With a goal to create communities who choose kindness and to make kindness a state of mind, KIND is also committed to using its business as a vehicle for social change. The KIND Movement inspires everyday acts of kindness (seventeen million and counting!)

The Grundy Center Woman's club chose the hospital and clinic employees for their random acts of kindness In recognition of  Martin Luther KIng Jr. The concept behind the healthy snack bars proved to be an equally inspiring way to show appreciation to those that serve the needs of others daily.
