Spartans gear up for Homecoming

GRUNDY CENTER – The Spartans kicked off Homecoming Week on Sunday with an afternoon full of fun and festivities for the whole community.
Students gathered for the annual parade, which brought them to the courthouse lawn, where they then dispersed to the streets of downtown Grundy Center for a ‘Chalk the Walk’ event. Afterwards, the community joined staff and students for a pep rally on the courthouse lawn, as well as the court announcement.
This year’s Grundy Center High School Homecoming Court includes: Emily Ehrig,  Amber Laube, Landry Luhring, Olivia Opheim and Hannah Stahl for Queen candidates, and Jake Bangasser, Aaron Havens, Jordan Hook, Josh Kuiper, and Colton Sandell for King candidates.
The coronation ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at the High School Gym.
The Spartans will play their Homecoming game against North Butler on Friday, October 13, at 7 p.m.
