Oakview Nursing Home is a special place for the folks who live there, those who work there and those who visit their loved ones, and the Conrad facility received statewide recognition for its commitment to quality care during a ceremony on Wednesday morning.

Rod Roberts, a former state representative who now serves as the head of the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA), presented Oakview Administrator Kara Butler with the Governor’s Award for Quality Care, and the nursing home was one of only two in Iowa to earn the distinction this year.

“It’s truly a recognition of your efforts. Thank you for all you do to help make Oakview home for residents,” Roberts said in thanking the staff. “Really, the encouragement is to keep on keeping on and do the same things going forward. This really is a highlight for all of us and a joy for us to come, to participate with you and to celebrate.”
