Wolverines win fourth straight

    MONONA —  Dike-New Hartford set up a showdown for the Class 1A, District 4 lead Friday with a 35-6 victory at MFL/MarMac.
    The ninth-ranked Wolverines (5-1 overall, 3-0 in the district) host second-ranked South Winneshiek in a battle of District 4 leaders Friday. The winner of that game will have the inside track to the district title.

Cougars continue streak with win over Denver

DENVER – The AGWSR Cougars continued their winning ways with a 28-6 Class A District 4 win at Denver last Friday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, quarterback Cody Williams called his own number twice to cap off a pair of Cougar scoring runs in the second period and put AGWSR up 14-0 at the half.           

Wolverine girls run to fifth at Jesup Invitational

JESUP – The Dike-New Harford girls ran to a fifth place team finish at the Jesup Invitational last Tuesday night, among a large field of runners from 30 different schools. Kadi Wright led the Wolverines with an 18th place showing among 159 varsity girls with a time of 16:18. Haylee Luna followed closely in 23rd, and Olivia Eiklenborg went 38th. Also contributing to the Wolverine team score were Jurane Lizer in 58th and Hannah Dove in 77th.

Lippert leads Cadets at South Hardin

    ELDORA -- Bethany Lippert ran to fourth place, leading the Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR girls’ cross country team to fifth place at the South Hardin Invitational Saturday at the Pine Lake Country Club.
    The Cadet boys placed sixth behind Landon Boomsma’s ninth-place effort.
    Other top finishers for the IFA/AGWSR girls included Jessica Lippert 17th, Patience Kauzlarich 34th and Taylor Dougan 35th. Other top boys’ finishers included Jacon Sundholm in 19th and Ruben Zeitler in 31st.

Rebel netters compete at Waverly

WAVERLY – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck volleyball team was put to the test by some ranked teams at the Waverly-Shell Rock tournament on Saturday.
The Rebels started their first pool of the day with a good run in their first set against Waverly-Shell Rock before falling 19-21, 13-21. In their second match G-R succumbed to Class 3A No. 9 Union, 15-21, 13-21.
In their second pool the Rebels lost to Class 2A No. 7 Grundy Center 10-21, 13-21, and to Dyersville Beckman 8-21, 3-12.

Wolverines remain perfect in NICL East

   JESUP — Dike-New Hartford remained perfect in North Iowa Cedar League East Division matches last Tuesday with a three-set victory over Jesup in its only action of the week.
    The Wolverines (21-2 overall, 5-0 in the NICL East) won by set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-15. Jesup drops to 19-10 overall and is 1-4 in the East Division.

Cadet runners Lippert, Boomsma finish in top 10 at Nevada Invite

NEVADA – Bethany Lippert and Landon Boomsma of Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR both finished toward the front of the pack, coming away with top 10 finishes in the Class A large school division at the Nevada Invitational. Lippert’s time of 17:23 was good for a sixth place finish, while Boomsma’s time of 18:01 earned him a seventh place showing. Both the Cadet girls and boys placed sixth in the team standings.
