Kellie and I aren’t big conspiracy theorists, but we both agreed that something was a bit fishy when we received almost identical letters from our respective financial institutions (I still use my hometown bank for checking) informing of a “possible breach” and providing us each with a new chip card to lessen the chances of any future fraud.

   DIKE – As the Dike-New Hartford baseball team re-enters the top five in the Class 2A rankings from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association, Wolverine veterans continue to prove that the team is about reloading, not rebuilding.

GRUNDY CENTER – With the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, community members are busy planning their festivities – whether it’s a barbecue, block party, camping trip, or just lighting off some celebratory fireworks. But whatever revelry the Fourth of July brings, the Grundy Center Police Department wants to urge citizens to practice safety and responsibility during their holiday fun.

GRUNDY COUNTY – Since the beginning of this year’s swimming season, the weather has proved to be an unpredictable factor for local aquatic centers. Temperatures swung from unseasonably hot to unseasonably chilly in a matter of days, but local swimmers have proved to be resilient, showing out to swim despite the less-than-perfect conditions.
In Grundy Center, pool manager Heather Stumberg says attendance has been very good so far this year, despite chillier temperatures the last week or so.
