Mary Ellen Johnson, 71, of Tama passed away August 13, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.  A Memorial Mass was held August 18 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Ken Gehling as celebrant.  Interment was held August 18 at Shiloh Township Cemetery in Wellsburg. Visitation was held August 17 at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Iowa River Hospice.

Roger L. Hinders

Roger L. Hinders, age 74, of Belmond, a Grundy Center, native died August 17, 2014, at his home in Belmond following a short battle with cancer with his family at his side. A family celebration of Roger's life will be held at the Stohres Ponds Conservation area near Grundy Center which was one of Roger's favorite places to spend his time.  Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial or card in Roger Hinders name may direct them to the family c/o Mary Hinders, 804 3rd Street N.E., Belmond, IA 50421.

Leola Mae Hook 96, of Grundy Center died August 23, 2014, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 27, from 4. to 6 p.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center.  Burial will follow funeral services at the Holland Cemetery.

Eileen L. Schultz 91, of Marshalltown, formerly of Grundy Center, died August 20, 2014, at Oakview, in Conrad. Services were held August 25, at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center. Paula Margaret Sells, 97, of Grundy Center died on August 21, 2014, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.  Services were held August 26 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center.  Family greeted guests one hour prior to services. Robert Raymond Brandt, 87, of Reinbeck died September 14, 2014, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A Memorial service was held September 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Inurnment was held at the Reinbeck Cemetery following the memorial service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
