Paul Clair Vogt

 

Paul Clair Vogt, known for his humor and devotion, passed away on May 12 at the Des Moines VA Hospice after a battle with kidney cancer.  Cremation rights have been accorded and a service will be held later.

Patty Copeman

 

Patty Copeman was born on June 18, 1950, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, to Arnold and Dorothy (Wilson) Reynolds. She lived the majority of her life in Grundy Center and graduated from Grundy Center High School in the class of 1968. Patty then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from University of Northern Iowa. 

Janet (Jan) Gienger

Janet (Jan) Irene Gienger, formerly of Beaman & Gladbrook, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026 at Newton Village.

Henry Albert Schick

Henry Albert Schick, 85, of Morrison, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck. Family and friends are invited to the visitation that will be held one hour before the service. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Washington Township Cemetery in Morrison.

Neva D, Blankenship, 80, of Grundy Center, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo. 

Carol M. Haywood

Carolyn M. Haywood, 90, of Grundy Center, formerly of Conrad, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Creekside Living - Cottages and Villas in Grundy Center. 

A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Abels Funeral and Cremation Services in Grundy Center. A celebration of life will take place following the visitation. A private family burial service will be held at Union Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.

WELLSBURG - Rick N. Groninga, 73, of Wellsburg, passed away on Sunday, April 5. 2026, at his home surrounded by his family under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice after a long courageous battle with cancer.
