      WEST DES MOINES – Several local students were recognized by Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer for outstanding academic achievement at the 24th Annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony on April 26 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

Orchard Hill Church announces new Grundy County campus pastor

Orchard Hill Church in Grundy Center has announced that Bob DeBoer will serve as its new campus pastor at its Grundy County Campus.

The announcement came in an e-mail to church members and friends. DeBoer will begin his pastorate in Grundy County in July.

Severe thunderstorms rake Grundy County

GRUNDY COUNTY – Severe thunderstorms in Grundy County early last week left a trail of damage that led to a state-level disaster declaration.

     Governor Kim Reynolds signed the declaration Monday, opening up state resources to those affected by last week’s storms.
