Grundy Center tax rate to remain stable

GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy Center City Council Monday gave preliminary approval to a Fiscal Year 2016 budget with an identical tax rate as the year before.
Council passed a resolution during a special meeting to set the levy rate at $15.60 per $100,000 valuation. Mayor Brian Buhrow presented multiple options to the council one of which was the possibility of lowering the levy slightly.
“I just think with the unknowing of the way the property tax rollback is going to affect us, I would say leave it where it’s at,” Council member Janetta Miller said.
