Authorities cast net to other Iowa cities in search of Kazmerzak

 

 

With no new leads in the search for missing Hampton man Ethan Kazmerzak as of 8:54 p.m. Monday, Franklin County law enforcment officlals have launched a statewide call for help.

 

Cory Eberling, public information office for the Franklin County Emergency Operations Center, said that as of 7 p.m. the local search would be scaled down due to nightfall and that authorities would continue to follow up any possible leads for clues to the location of Kazmerzak.

BREAKING NEWS - Grundy Center city clerk resigns

Grundy Center City Clerk Rich Riesberg has resigned Wednesday, the same day that the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation visited City Hall.

The resignation was first reported on KWWL television Thursday. The Waterloo-based station spoke with Mayor Rex Van Wert, who said the investigation was "not financial" in nature, but offered no other information.

The Grundy Center City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m., where VanWert told KWWL that Riesberg's resignation will be formally acted upon.

Merle Metge

Merle Metge, 88, of Conrad passed away on September 6, 2013, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services were September 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad. Edith E. Johnson

Edith E.  Johnson, 92, of Cedar Falls died September 1, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. Services were September 7 at the NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
