Holland Council considers car show

   HOLLAND – The Holland City Council considered a 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence celebration, possibly a car show, at its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 2.


   Mayor Rick Classon inquired as to whether anyone had considered a 250th anniversary celebration for Holland and considered organizing a car show. Anyone willing to volunteer or help plan the celebration should contact the mayor or a council member.

Avenue of Flags to be set up at Conrad Cemetery

The Avenue of Flags will be put up in the Conrad Cemetery on Saturday, May 23 at 8 a.m.  The committee is asking for volunteers.  Breakfast will be served afterwards at the Beacon Christian Church in Conrad for all volunteers. Flags will be taken down on Monday, May.25 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Quilt show planned during Beaman Memorial Day celebration

     BEAMAN – Beaman will celebrate its 150th birthday during its Memorial Day celebration May 25. As part of the celebration, a quilt show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Beaman United Methodist Church (306 McMartin Street).
