Primary elections set for June 2

Voters head to the polls June 2 to determine what candidates will face off in November’s mid-term election.

    Several key races are on the ballot this year, including both Iowa governor and U.S. Senate seats that are open after Gov. Kim Reynolds and Sen. Joni Ernst opted not to seek reelection.

Orchard Hill Church announces new Grundy County campus pastor

Orchard Hill Church in Grundy Center has announced that Bob DeBoer will serve as its new campus pastor at its Grundy County Campus.

The announcement came in an e-mail to church members and friends. DeBoer will begin his pastorate in Grundy County in July.

Since earning his Master of Divinity Degree from  Fuller Theological Seminary, DeBoer has served in pastoral ministry for the past 25 years. He currently is serving at Lake Forest Church in Denver, North Carolina.

Severe thunderstorms rake Grundy County

GRUNDY COUNTY – Severe thunderstorms in Grundy County early last week left a trail of damage that led to a state-level disaster declaration.

     Governor Kim Reynolds signed the declaration Monday, opening up state resources to those affected by last week’s storms.
